The heels are alive with the sound of muzak or don't call me mam

What's a successful, fifty-plus woman with a proven track record for making clients happy, handstand happy to do when   it seems the business universe as we once knew has changed ? What I'm offering is first-hand experiences as I tread through these new waters. I'm in that boat, well sort of fell out of the boat and now looking for a life preserver. But, hey, I'm here to say that it's going to be fine, honest.

First off, DON'T PANIC - you are not alone.  Keep you mind open to all the wonderful ways to communicate with the world. Please shake the agism thing, too.  Yes, so you remember the world pre fax machines, lap tops etc, however, things have changed, so deal with it.   Next, learn how to combine old school and the new social media community at large.  You will soon learn you have a lot to offer, plus your grammar and spelling will probably be above average, too.

Learn to engage, start communicating, build relationships and again, keep an open mind concerning your ability to connect with people world-wide via twitter, facebook, LinkedIn and more much. Now, if I can just find my glasses...LOL Have a fab day

What big girls do on weekends

Ok, so I recently read that women influence more than 80% of the consumer purchasing decisions in the household. Good to know, however, where, when and how can we as a group meet on weekends to have fun? Just 'pure for the pleasure of having fun' without having to pass around business cards or get sized up as a potential client? Rules of Engagement is all a Twitter encouraging us to create relationships first ala Dale Carnegie. It used to be so easy back in high school/college to make friends just for the sake of being friends, not sniff out new ways to make money. Ok, high school may have been a nightmare for some, but what about connecting with other women ? Thus the birth of D.A.M.E.S.S. - Dinner and More Every Saturday/Sunday. If you're interested, please share your ideas on what activities you as a woman over 35 would like to share on weekends.

For women 40 & wiser : Fear of blogging

I am launching my very first blog. (pause) I'm waiting for some kind of musical intro or at least someone to say, "Welcome". Ok, so Monty Hall had a previous engagement, (if you remember who he is, this blog is for you! LOL). I'm a member of the ever-growing demographic of baby boomers ( or zoomer if you live in Canada). We are younger than our parents were at this age... you've heard 55 is the new 65 ? I want to share my post menopausal journey (hot flashes aside) as I launch my first networking group, D.A.M.E.S.S. or Dinner and More every Saturday/Sunday. I'm focussing on fun-related activities solely aimed for weekends. This blog is strictly for women 40 or wiser (sounds better an older) who just wanna have fun.
